Staff Selection Commission held Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) all over India to fill up the vacancies of Postal/Sorting Assistants, Data Entry Operators, Lower Divisional Clerk and Court clerks.ÅŸ
The selection procedure go through three stages as follows:

Number of Vacancies
The official notification for the year 2017 is not published yet. So the number of vacancies for the year 2017 is yet to announced.
The total open vacancies as per the official notification 2016 published on 08-10-2016 are 5134 as follow:
- 506 vacancies of Data Entry Operators
- 1321 vacancies of Lower Division Clerk
- 3281 vacancies of Postal/Sorting Assistants
- 26 vacancies of Court clerks
SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria
In order to get selected, firstly the candidates have to fulfill the eligibility criteria.
Age Limit: As per the norms prescribed by SSC related to age are as follows
- The age should be between 18 to 27 Years (As specified in particular SSC 10+2 Level LDC/DEO notification) as on 1st Jan, 2017 (Born between 2-1-1990 to 1-1-1999)
- Relaxation of Upper age limit under para 4 (A) will be available for the candidates who belongs to reserved category.
- The candidates have to be at least of the age of 18 years, however age relaxation can be provided as per the Government regulations. Relaxation in age is provided to the reserved like SC / ST / OBC category and it will be applicable as per the rule. The candidates should be at least qualified 12th standard students from any examining body constituted by law or any other examination acknowledged by the Central Government.
Qualification as on 1-1-2017: The candidates should have 12th passed certificate. Candidates who have not qualified as on the date as specified in the notification will not be eligible
SSC CHSL 2017 Application form
- The candidates can apply for SSC CHSL 2017 only through online mode.
- The candidates are advised to go through the eligibility criteria before they start application procedure.
- The candidates can apply through online mode from the official website http://ssc.online.nic.in OR http://ssconline2.gov.in.
- Candidates have to go to the official website of SSC.
- The candidates have to upload the scanned images of their photograph and signature.
- To complete the application process they have to pay the application fee.
- The size of the photograph must be between 4 kb to 12 kb & resolution should be of 100-pixel width by 120 pixels height.
- The size of signature must be between 1 kb to 12 kb & resolution should be of 140-pixel width by 60 pixels height.
Application fee
- Candidates can pay either through SBI bank challan (challan can be downloaded, printed & submitted at any CBS branch of SBI) or net banking.
- Nominal service charges may be included in net banking mode of payment.
- The application fee is exempted in case of female candidates and all the reserved category candidates.
SSC CHSL Notification will be decleared on 03.11.2018. Eligible applicants may fill online application form on or before the last date 30.11.2018.
